My DepicT! Idea

90 Second Film Idea

The Plot
My 90 second film idea is about a cop that has trouble with his memory. The cop has just come back off his shift which was having to settle a fight with a gang. Throughout his walk through the station we see parts of his memory coming back to haunt him. Within his memory are moments where he sees people shooting, women and children running, hiding and screaming and him behind his car with blood splattered on him. He recalls his memory of this traumatic event whilst walking through the hallways towards his office, unaware of his surroundings. Whilst this is going on, we have the camera flash from the cop to a guy in his office sneaking around as though he isn't meant to be there. Once the memory ends and he has reached his office he turns the lights on and half of the police crew jump up in surprise for his birthday, holding various items like presents, party poppers that go off, and a birthday cake. The guy that looked like he was stealing from the cop was preparing the room with banners and other decorations.
At the end of them shouting "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" the cop pulls out his gun in panic and shoots one of his fellow officers. The traumatic experience of the shift from last night has made him wary and alarmed the whole time causing him to shoot the officer before realising what was going on.

The Reason
From my short clip I believe the audience would feel shocked due to the ending but also intrigued on what would happen next. The beginning of my plot would make the audience want to know more due to being brought in at a random moment. The flash backs of memory would intrigued the audience and make them become interested in what would happen next. When the mood changes from a horrific murding scene to a happy surprise the audience would become shocked from the actions that the cop has taken and would also be stunned as the other police officers are at that moment in time.
